Dior Golden Winter Holiday Collection!!!

It's my favorite time of year - and no, not just because my birthday is coming!
Holiday collections THRILL me.  They're so elegant, especially Dior.
Last Year's Grand Bal collection excited me so much that I bought all of it.  TWICE.
I have a weird obsession with Diorific Lipsticks.
This is the only time to get them!
Which kills me.
But gives me something to look forward to, which is nice!
I dream of a world where elegance like this exists everyday.
"Be the change you wish to see in the world" - (Not actually what Gandhi said - paraphrased.)

Miss Dior Original or Le Parfum
Naturally.

RiRi Hearts MAC Review

Wow...  I haven't really liked Rihanna for awhile... Since that whole Chris Brown thing... I like most of her music, but her demeanor lately has been absolutely smug and I find it terribly unbecoming.  She used to be fun, and flirty and now, much like Miley, she acts like she doesn't care about anything anymore.

I really like this collection.  The rose gold packaging is gorgeous, the campaign photo is breathtaking... The colors are GORGEOUS.

For Our Song today, I chose "Talk That Talk", "Where Have You Been?", and "Disturbia" simply because they're my favorites :)

Scent?  Rihanna, Reb'l Fleur, of course!

Another Fruity, sweet celebrity fragrance... but not altogether unbearable.

Top Notes: Fruits, Peaches, Plums and Red Berries (Add as many adjectives and synonyms for "Juicy" as you want...)

Heart: coconut water, Hawaiian Hibiscus, Violet Tuberose

Base: Vanilla, Amber and Musk

From what I understand, this was developed based upon "What would sell" vs. What Rihanna would wear and buy, blah blah.  Typical.

Back to Makeup! :D

Here's the Press release from MAC to Temptalia's Christine:

Rihanna premieres her perfect palette of lavish fall colour – a range of decidedly daring yet classically gorgeous shades, finishes and tools, all encased in the metallic warmth of rose gold packaging. Lipstick in deep raisin, orange frost, creamy nude and the vivid red of RiRi Woo match gleaming Lipglass, while eyes in contrasting soft and smoky cocoas complement luminous skin highlighted with Diamonds Cream Colour Base and Powder Blush in Bad Girl Gone Good.

Some Promotional images...

The Lipsticks... Dear God.  Something always stirs inside me when I see lipstick in a beautiful tube.  If you know me at all, you know I'm a sucker for gold packaged ANYTHING but ROSE GOLD?!?!?! Wow.
The lipsticks are debossed with Rihanna's signature.  The shades above from left to right are:
Nude (a cool, matte cream)
Who's That Chick (a frosted orange)
RiRi Woo (a matte, blue red) *released earlier this year*
Talk That Talk (a matte, deep plum)
$16.50
Unfortunately when I got to the counter they were sold out of all but RiRi Woo, assumably because they overstocked, OR customers bought theirs earlier this year when it first launched.
The Lipglass is also in shade RiRi Woo $16.50
The Lipliners in this collection are:
RiRi Woo
and
Talk That Talk
$21.50
There are two EXTREMELY beautiful eyeshadow palettes.  I purchased Her Cocoa which are the nudes.  The other, Smoked Cocoa, are the grays.  $44
As with all MAC products, these colors are extremely pigmented, the formulas are very long-wearing.

There are two powder brow pencils in Deep Brunette and Deep Dark Brunette.  $21.50

Cream Colorbase in Diamonds $22

Blush in Bad Girl Gone Good   $23
Blush Duo in Hibiscus Kiss       $29

Extended Play Gigablack Lash  $17.50

The 36 and 35(Limited!!!) lashes are  $17.50

The 282SE Duo Fibre Brush is $32
The 187SE Duo Fibre Brush is $42

Let's get on with my review, swatches and pictures!
Beautiful rose gold boxes.  I purchased these 7 items with my own money! :)  Her Cocoa Eyeshadow Palette, Extended Play Lash GigaBlack, Veluxe Brow Liner in Deep Dark Brunette, Liquidlast Liner in Pointblack, Pro Longwear Lip Pencil in RiRi Woo, Lipstick in RiRi Woo, Lipglass in RiRi Woo.
(But I am more than willing to review items sent to me for consideration, free of charge.)*

To be absolutely clear, the packaging is different in color, but is the standard shape and weight as all of MAC packaging.  I quite like the metallic finish.  I really wish the Prep + Prime finish was on all of their packaging, I find it quite beautiful.  MAC usually do a limited edition palette shape and minaudiere style during the holiday season.

The lipstick is amazing, not only because it's Rihanna's RiRi Woo, but it's a retro matte formula, which means that it is a velvet matte finish.  It's like velvet.  It never flakes or bleeds.  It becomes a stain on the lips.

The eyeliner is the blackest of the black.  This is extremely long wearing.  the swatch I made would not come off of my hand for two days - that's after makeup remover (clarins and Make Up For Ever) scratching, and finally my Clarisonic.  The color is similar to that of Stila's liquid liner, but the intensity, density and long-wear are unmatched by any that I've seen.

MAC's Lipglass is just that - glass for the lips.  It's quite smooth... not sticky at all.  Some glosses are rather a bit gloopy and anytime you open your mouth there are bits of gloop keeping your mouth in a limbo of open/closed.  Quite annoying that.  This color is gorgeous on it's own.  Over the lipliner and lipstick, it's marvelous.  Perfect combo... matchy matchy is back, y'all.

This is the first Mascara by MAC I have EVER tried.  Odd, no?  Meet Extended Play Gigablack Lash which MAC call "a lightweight curling, lifting mascara in an intense carbon black pigment.  The brush is quite small and elongated.  The curl with this mascara is incredible, and when compared to Dior's Iconic Overcurl, they're nearly similar.  What separates them entirely is that Overcurl give volume and length, and Gigablack, to me, is mainly concerned with curl and length.  As far as "coal black pigment" goes, when swatched next to Diorshow Blackout (whose claim to fame is 15x more pigment than regular mascara) the two are quite similar, the difference, again, being volume.
On a side note, I've found MAC's False Lashes' brush and formula to be quite similar to Diorshow original, and I will be testing it very soon for comparison!

On to swatches!
